Indeed, the action he took seemed small, but it had great significance. If he had not warned the people, what might have happened? There is a poem that answers this question clearly, "The fate of a nation was riding that night; and the spark struck out by that steed in his flight. …A cry of defiance, and not of fear. …And the midnight message of Paul Revere." Just as Paul Revere noticed that the British were coming, we have also noticed in the United States how more of our freedoms are being subtlely taken away, right under our noses -so to speak- without us even knowing about it. The questions we should be asking ourselves are "What will I do?" and "How do we protect our freedoms, that are so dear to our nation?"
